DVR’ing on the Go

Here is my technology wish…Ok one of many but. I would love for DirecTV/Dish or cable to have the ability if you are on the road to go on their TV listing schedule and click on a show and have your DVR record it back home. I figure then said company can relay request to your box and then it sets a timer.

Do you mean like TiVos do? It’s certainly saved my butt a few times. I think that they’ve got it to the point now where Verizon customers can even do it by mobile phone. Geeky!

I can do this with EyeTV for the Mac. It uses TitanTV for the schedules. If you’re away and need to schedule something, you can go to TitanTV’s website, find the show you want to record and hit record. Meanwhile, you’ve configured EyeTV to update it’s schedules from TitanTV at a certain interval. When it does this, it also sees the new recording schedule and adds it. For instance, I have mine set to update every hour. So as long as I go to TitianTV and schedule the recording at least an hour before the show starts, EyeTV will make it happen. Pretty cool…..
